The IP Aliasing page enables the administrator to control IP Aliasing on system network interfaces. This function is designed specifically for servers that have more than one IP address or are on more than one interface.
To access the IP aliasing management functions, click on the IP Aliasing button on the Server administration page. The IP Aliasing management page appears displaying the list of IP aliases available in the system.
The icons in the S and T columns represent the IP address state and type (exclusive or shared) respectively, the numbers shown in the C and H columns indicate whether the ip address is used by clients and hosting accounts.
From this page, the user can add and remove ip aliases, refresh the list of ip aliases, access the ip alias properties editing.
To add an IP Alias to a Plesk managed server, follow these steps:
Click on IP Aliasing button on the Server administration page. The IP Aliasing management page appears displaying the list of IP aliases available in the system.
To add an IP alias, click on the Add button, the IP alias adding page will open. Using the Interface drop-down list, select a network interface the IP Alias will be added to. Specify the appropriate IP address and Subnet Mask in the text boxes provided. Define the IP address type (Shared or Exclusive) and select the SSL certificate to be used for the hosting accounts created using this IP.
Click Update to submit. Once submitted, the new address remains on the screen to facilitate the entry of multiple addresses.
You cannot add random IP addresses; they must be assigned.
To change the IP address type, follow these steps:
At the IP aliasing management page, select the ip address in the list to edit it. The IP editing page will open.
Change the IP address type to Shared or Exclusive using the radio-button.
Click Update to submit your changes.
To assign a SSL certificate, follow these steps:
At the IP aliasing management page, select the ip address in the list to edit it. The IP editing page will open.
Select the required SSL certificate from the drop-down list of certificates available from the repository.
Click Update to submit your changes.
In case if an IP address is missing on the interface, you can try restoring it using the Repair IP button:
At the IP aliasing management page, select the ip address in the list to edit it. The IP editing page will open.
Click the Repair IP button. The ip address will be restored.
Click on the Up button at the top of the page or select a shortcut in the pathbar next to the Up button to return to the IP aliasing management page.
The default domain displayed on the IP properties page is the domain, which has the highest priority set in the web server configuration file over all domains using the given ip address for hosting.
To set the default domain for the given IP address, follow these steps:
At the IP aliasing management page, click on the number in the H column of the list, corresponding to the necessary IP address. The page will open displaying the list of domains hosted using this IP address.
Select a domain using the radio-button in the Sel column.
Click Set as Default. Now the default domain is set.
Click on the Up button at the top of the page or select a shortcut in the pathbar next to the Up button to return to the IP aliasing management page.
To access the list of clients, follow these steps:
At the IP aliasing management page, click on the number in the C column of the list, corresponding to the necessary IP address. The page will open displaying the list of clients who have this IP address in the IP pool.
From this page you can add this ip address to the ip pool of a certain client:
Click on the Add button on this page. The clients selection dialog window will open prompting you to select the clients to add the ip address to.
Click on a client's name in the list to select
Click Add to add, or Cancel to cancel adding.
You can remove the IP alias from this page. To do this:
Select the client you wish to remove an alias from using the checkboxes in the Sel column.
Click Remove Selected. The confirmation page appears.
Check the checkbox and click Submit to confirm removal or click Cancel to cancel.
You have an option of searching through the list for a certain pattern. It may help you in case you have a great number of items in the list and you need to work with a particular one. To search through the list, type the pattern string into the text input field and click Search. If there were any items found matching the entered pattern string, they will all be displayed in the form of a reduced list. The button Show All will revert to displaying the whole list.
To access the list of domains, follow these steps:
At the IP aliasing management page, click on the number in the H column of the list, corresponding to the necessary IP address. The page will open displaying the list of domains hosted using this IP address.
To set the default domain for the given IP address from this page, follow these steps:
At the IP aliasing management page, click on the number in the H column of the list, corresponding to the necessary IP address. The page will open displaying the list of domains hosted using this IP address.
Select a domain using the radio-button in the Sel column.
Click Set as Default. Now the default domain is set.
Click on the Up button at the top of the page or select a shortcut in the pathbar next to the Up button to return to the IP aliasing management page.

When the new IP addresses appear on the interface, but are not displayed in the control panel, you may have to refresh the list of IP addresses manually:
Access the IP aliasing management page.
Click the Reread IP button.
To remove one or several IP Aliases from the network interface, follow these steps:
At the IP aliasing management page, select the IP aliases you wish to remove, using the checkboxes in the Sel column.
Click Remove Selected. A confirmation page will open; click Submit to remove, or Cancel to cancel the removal.
You cannot remove the main interface IP from the Plesk control panel; the corresponding checkbox appears as disabled in the Sel column of the list.
